is a San Antonio native and alumnus of Douglas MacArthur High School.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio before receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. While in optometry school, he was elected Class President, served as President of The Ohio State Optometry Ambassadors, and mentored aspiring and current optometry students across the country.
He joins us after completing a residency in ocular disease at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, consistently ranked the nation’s #1 Eye Hospital and “Best in Ophthalmology” by U.S. News & World Report. During his residency, he trained alongside leading experts in glaucoma, corneal disease, advanced dry eye, neuro-ophthalmology, and retinal disease, while also providing around-the-clock care in a 24/7 ophthalmic emergency department.
Dr. Germain is thrilled to return home and provide expert eye care to the community that raised him. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best possible vision through personalized care, advanced treatment options, and education that empowers them to make confident decisions about their eye health, allowing them to live clearer and more enjoyable lives.
When not in clinic, Dr. Germain enjoys playing golf, cheering on the Buckeyes, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
Fun Fact: Dr. Germain has personally undergone ICL surgery.
